About IRCALC

IRCALC is a non-profit, non-governmental confederation of' writers, scholars and researchers from all over the world with common interest in African studies, in particular the literary arts and cultures of Africa and the Diaspora. Funded by Progeny International for the purpose of enhancing the free exchange of information, books and publications in the area of African literature, arts and culture, IRCALC editors also see to the regular publishing of the African Literary Journal of arts and culture. The purpose of the Progeny-IRCALC initiative is to provide equal forum for interaction between all member organizations, college departments, libraries and individuals for the exchange of information, ideas, and research findings that enrich the understanding of Africa's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Members cut across all races and nationalities and are committed to a more imaginative approach to Africa's development issues. IRCALC publications are available by subscription while contributing individual and institutional members, organizations, departments and libraries will continue to receive copies of the quarterly IRCALC newsletters and annual JALC -ALJ /NP e-journal issues.
