The 2006 Journal of New Poetry of African Expressions contains
scholarly essay contributions, and features new poetic expressions from
Africa, America, Canada and the Caribbean islands.
In addition, readers will find the review of three new-poetry publications from Nigeria, Guinea Bissau and Jamaica an engaging reading in their study of new literary trends from the African diaspora.
The editors at IRCALC hope by this journal issue to bring further searchlights on African and African-American poetry, the idea being a broader perception of history and continuity apparent even from a glance at Africa's contemporary poetry but not to neglect its entire historical (oral-written) contexts which scholars and researchers have found to be of great importance.
