PDP mocks Buhari over failure to submit school certificate to INEC

– writes Seun Ope Daily Post

ABUJA – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to submit his academic credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Buhari’s Secondary School certificate controversy made the headlines in 2014 during the build-up for the 2015 presidential polls where he was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ahead of the 2019 election, details of various candidates’ credentials were made available to reporters in Abuja on Thursday and it emerged that President Buhari only submitted an affidavit wherein he claimed that his credentials were with the Secretary of the Military Board.

Buhari’s affidavit reportedly read:

“I am the above-named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”

Reacting to the development, PDP’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan advised Buhari on what to do.

In a tweet, Ologbondiyan said Buhari should write to military authorities asking for his credentials.

He wrote: “Integrity demands that you write to military authorities asking them to forward your credentials to INEC.

Editor’s Note

Following this grievous failure of presenting basic educational qualification involving the Nigerian president and his military council, the chief of staff and kitchen member of the political cabal, Abba Kyari, on Friday met behind closed doors with the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu.

The thirty minute secret meeting was held at the staff chief’s office.

No explanation was proffered to the media as to the purpose of the dalliance between a supposedly independent electoral chair and the errand master of the president’s kitchen cabinet.
