Poetry is Art, an Art for Life

But I have to leave

(A Poem)

by Obinna Chilekezi

~

A fine Sunday morning
A bird and his mate at my window
Singing songs of love together

This country is
Full of pretty feathers

And aviary songs,
I love her

But the taxi’s outside
Waiting, and I have to leave
These songs, these feathers and her tears
